The decentralisation of power systems and the large-scale integration of renewable energy are transforming the economics of electricity, pushing the marginal cost of production towards zero. Traditional mechanisms are giving way to models in which flexibility (storage, system services, capacity) is the main driver of profitability.
For decision-makers, regulators and developers, the key challenge is to navigate between regulatory instability and the emergence of new market opportunities. Securing transition investments requires a firm grasp of both institutional risks and financial modelling.
Anticipating new valuation models in the face of decarbonisation
An integrated approach to steering regulation and financial performance
We bring technical and financial expertise to bear in aligning regulatory requirements with long-term profitability objectives.
1. Energy system regulation and market design
Analysis of regulatory frameworks for electricity networks, pricing mechanisms, renewable energy support schemes (tenders, auctions) and the frameworks governing decentralised generation.
2. Market analysis and economic and financial assessments
Market studies, demand forecasts, cost-of-service analyses, cost-benefit analyses and financial assessments to inform investment decisions.
3. Energy transition and sector planning
Support for decarbonisation strategies through studies on electric mobility, macroeconomic and social impact analyses of energy policies, and the development of long-term transition scenarios.

Our flagship projects
Optimising revenues and the tariff structure of the electricity sector in the Republic of the Congo
Commissioned by the World Bank, we analysed options for adjusting the electricity sector's tariff structure. The cost-of-service study and the design of a sector-wide financial model enabled us to make tariff recommendations to Énergie électrique du Congo (E2C).
Forward-looking analysis and sector planning of the electricity market in Latin America and the Caribbean
On behalf of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), we led a forward-looking analysis of the electricity sector to 2050, covering 18 countries. Starting from the initial energy situation, our study charted a sustainable development pathway, quantified the investment required and identified future infrastructure projects.
Developing a national electric mobility strategy in Jordan
The World Bank entrusted us with developing Jordan's national electric mobility strategy. After assessing multiple charging scenarios and tariff options, we delivered an operational roadmap that balances grid viability with vehicle adoption.
